Overview
Based at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, the Section of Rheumatology includes ten full-time and five part-time associated faculty members providing ambulatory care, clinical consultation, and inpatient care for inflammatory musculoskeletal and systemic autoimmune diseases.
Clinical Service
Faculty provide comprehensive rheumatology care and conduct research at the Health Sciences Centre.
Education
Faculty contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education. The Rheumatology Training Program offers a two-year residency for candidates with prior Internal Medicine training.
Research
The section holds an endowed Rheumatology Research Chair and undertakes basic science, translational research, epidemiology, and clinical trials. Interests include rheumatoid synovitis, lupus, rheumatic diseases in First Nations populations, biomarkers, disease pathogenesis, scleroderma, and care disparities.
Administration
Faculty collaborate with other University of Manitoba sections and departments, plus institutions and organizations across Canada and abroad.
