Overview
The Section of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation comprises ten physiatrists specializing in rehabilitation medicine, providing inpatient care and outpatient clinics. PMR focuses on muscles, bones, nerves, function, and mobility to improve patients’ quality of life.
Clinical Service
Inpatient rehabilitation units are at the Rehabilitation Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, and Riverview Health Centre. Outpatient clinics are available at the Rehabilitation Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, Riverview Health Centre, Pan Am Clinic, Manitoba Clinic, and WELL Health.
Education
Faculty participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education. The PMR residency program accommodates ten residents and provides hands-on training and mentorship.
Research
Research encompasses innovative treatments, patient outcomes, and advances in rehabilitation technology.
Administration
The section is staffed by ten physiatrists supported by healthcare professionals delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services.
